Valknut Viking Symbol Of Three Interlocking Triangles

Valknut Viking Symbol Of Three Interlocking Triangles Image
Two main formations of Valknut can be seen in History : either as Borromean (to the right below), or unicursal (to the left below). Each one can be seen in stone artwork, historic documents or even on old norse weapons.

The Valknut unicursal symbol as can be seen below is very unique in that it entwines the three triangles in such a way that it is very similar to a symbol of infinity. Whereas the borromean Valknut symbol to the right shows three separate, but still connected triangles showing what appears to be a bond on three levels.

The Valknut is a powerful old Norse viking occult symbol represented by the three interlocking triangles. In many images it can be seen as a representation of Odin and the afterlife. While the exact meaning of VALKNUT is unsure, however it is believed and indicated to symbolise the connectedness of the nine worlds represented in the vikings world.

Another belief for the Valknut symbol meaning was as a aid for reincarnation, cyclical relationships and in talismans to ward against evil.

"Above - Odin with Sleipnir - Valknuts seen beneath the horse. "

The Valknut symbol modernly can be seen in many artworks around the world, in tattoos and jewelry. To me the Valknut is one of the most powerful viking symbols. Its design is so unique, its look appealing and its meaning to me looks to represent a certain type of connectivity of everything, infinity and immortality.

New Zealand Church Of Odin

New Zealand Church Of Odin Cover New Force Conference in December of 1980, he helped form ‘The Church of Odin’. A Church dedicated to the Norse God Odin, was not unique to just New Zealand.

The oldest modern church worshipping Odin, was started across the Tasman by lawyer Alexander Rud Mills (1885-1964) Melbournite, Rud Mills, formulated his ideas after travelling to Europe in the early 30’s & at one stage was involved with the British ‘Imperialist Fascist League’ (a right wing version of Sir Oswald Mosleys ‘British union of Fascists) In 1933 he journeyed to Germany where he garnished a personal audience with Adolf Hitler. Upon his return to Australia in 1934 Mills started The First Anglecyn Church of Odin, along with a number of short-lived newspapers, like ‘National Socialist’. During WW2 Mills was interned by The Australian Government as a possible Nazi sympathiser.

Trying to summerise Mills brand of Odinism is an exercise in itself, and worthy of a separate dissertation. Articles on Mills point to his desire to replace Australia's traditional Anglo-Saxon Christian institutions with his own brand of racially based mixture of mysticism & socialism. On one hand he drew up a Decalogue that is a blatant copy of The Anglican Church, the word Anglecynn being the ancient version for Church of England, then in the next breath Mills stated he abhorred Jesus Christ. Add into this ‘Norse melting-pot’ elements from the Masons & Rosicrucian's. His unique brand of worship remarkably still has its followers, even today (minus the now unfashionable bits about Hitler, anti-semitism etc).

Like it’s Anitipodean and North American name-sakes, the New Zealand Church of Odin adopted this heady combination of National Socialism, and Viking mystique – but little of their substance.

Boltons co-founder in New Zealand, David Crawford, indicated Florida was the world-headquarters in November, 1981 along with accompanying statements that alluded to “tens of thousands of [worldwide] members” and added to his attempts at credibility “the church has been going about 15 years”.

The Ancient Fires Of Midgard

The Ancient Fires Of Midgard Cover

Book: The Ancient Fires Of Midgard by Andrea Haugen

I have always felt different from the crowd. I thought much more about life than others my age did. I had deep emotions, intense dreams, visions and magical experiences, I felt very connected to animals, had a great interest in ancient cultures, and I loved gloomy and gothic images. I was intensely drawn to ‘creatures of the night’ like vampires and werewolves (who really are merely symbols of our natural instincts), supernatural tales etc.

I connected with different witch- and magical organisations (and the early Neo-Folk music movement, whose occult outlook inspired me a great deal…) and truly started to work with my inner self. With it I got really interested in the myths and mysteries of my ancestors. I think it is really important to know and understand our own culture and why we practise our local customs. I wanted people to understand why we celebrate Christmas and Easter, what our traditions originally were about. This is why I wrote this book. I try to interpretate the spirituality of Northern Europe - the myths, folklore, superstitions, natural wisdom and magical traditions. In my very own way.

But even though this book focuses on the myths and traditions of Northern Europe, many chapters discuss life’s mysteries, magical practise, goddess worship and my thoughts on human nature in general. After all I am inspired by the mysteries of life... and particularly the lunar side of life in general... Please keep this in mind. Even though I know a lot about the old Germanic traditions I am not a representative for the Germanic religion. I consider myself to be more of an ‘universal’ pagan or witch. I am a seeker, an artist who has experienced many strange things in her life. And what I want most of all with my music, art and writings is that people free their minds and think for themselves. More and more people become free thinking individuals and show respect for the earth, for animals and search for life’s mysteries. And I really hope this is a true step in the right direction and not just a fashion. Life as a journey, with new possibilities and also many obstacles... there are always new beginnings in life...

I hope this book will inspire you. To really understand the Pagan way of thinking you have to look inside yourself. Let your inner voice be your guide. (Andrea Haugen)

Road To Hel A Study Of The Conception Of The Dead

Road To Hel A Study Of The Conception Of The Dead Cover

Book: Road To Hel A Study Of The Conception Of The Dead by Hilda Roderick Ellis

Professor and Mrs. Chadwick I owe more than can be easily expressed: the discovery of both the inspiration and discipline of research, and unfailing help, both with practical advice and encouragement, the whole of the way. I would like also to thank Mr. and Mrs. J. M. de Navarro and Mr. G. N. Garmonsway for many suggestions and for their sympathetic interest; and Miss G. D. Willcock, who read the book in manuscript, and Miss Helen Brown, who read the proofs and assisted with the index, for their helpful criticism and support. Finally my thanks are due to the Syndics of the University Press for undertaking the publication of this book, despite the difficulties of war-time, and to its Staff for the courtesy and efficiency they have shown throughout. (H. R. ELLIS)

In this book an attempt has been made to collect the evidence concerned with one important aspect of Norse heathenism: ideas about the fate of man after death. The conception which has made the strongest appeal to popular imagination is that of the warrior paradise, Valhalla; and it is surprising at first to have to realise that this is only one of many conflicting pictures of the realm of the dead, and one moreover which occupies only a very small section of the prose and poetry which has come down to us. One of the many problems which still awaits an answer is whether from the vast accumulation of evidence relating to the dead it is possible to make out any definite and consistent presentation of the other world, and of the fate of man beyond the grave. In attempting to find a solution of this problem, we may gain help from the fact that archaeology as well as literature has evidence to offer us, in particular about funeral customs; and no more dramatic introduction could be desired than that presented by the heathen graves which have been explored in Scandinavia, with their rich implications of ship-funeral and human sacrifice. Beside the study of funeral customs, such a survey as this must include all that can be discovered about the conception of a realm or realms of the dead, any traces of a cult of the dead which have been recorded, and any indication which the literature can give as to the nature of survival after death according to heathen thought. Finally, in the concluding chapters we shall pass on to certain conceptions which appear to be of seine importance, those connected with the relationship between the world of the living and that of the dead. Here there are two main aspects to be considered: the consultation of the dead by the living, and the entry of the living soul into the world of the dead to learn its secrets.

This approach is particularly important in dealing with incidents from the Icelandic sagas which have to do with the supernatural. While it is universally recognised that the majority of these are based on the doings of historic persons and on reliable local tradition, passages which bring in the supernatural element are apt to be eyed with suspicion and dismissed as fictitious interpolations to enliven the story. Moreover, the high literary quality of the sagas as a whole means that a form and unity have been given to their plots which could never have resulted from the mere slavish recording of accurate facts; and how much then of the heathen background is to be attributed to the creative imagination and shaping hand of the storytellers who have worked on the original traditions about local heroes? It remains to be seen whether the evidence for heathen practices given in these tales gives us reason to believe that they are based on actual customs and genuine traditions remembered from the heathen period. The test of a consistent picture agreeing not in small details and forms of narrative but in the fundamental outline, which remains recognisable and convincing, seems the most satis-factory guide to demand here. As regards the Fornaldar Sogur, the ‘sagas of old time’, the date of these in their present form is late, and it is impossible to base any conclusions on their evidence alone. But they are of great value for purposes of comparison, and it will be found that passages from them sometimes serve to illumine evidence gained from more reliable sources, suggesting that a good deal of the material they contain is composed from genuine traditions, albeit imperfectly remembered, from heathen times. He Needs The Nurse Of Magic And Breath-taking Fairy Tales To Lure

He Needs The Nurse Of Magic And Breath-taking Fairy Tales To Lure Image
Open sesame, one of the most celebrated magic phrases, held enough power for Ali Baba to shift boulders and open a passage into the unknown. This colorful, centuries-old fable points to a literal truth about the power and importance of magic words:

We know that words cannot move mountains, but they can move the multitude.... Words shape thought, stir feeling, and beget action; they kill and revive, corrupt and cure. The "men of words"-priests, prophets, intellectuals-have played a more decisive role in history than military leaders, statesmen, and businessmen.

Words and magic are particularly crucial in time of crisis when old forms of life are in dissolution and man must grapple with the unknown. Normal motives and incentives lose then their efficacy. Man does not plunge into the unknown in search of the prosaic and matter-of-fact. His soul has to be stretched by reaching out for the fabulous and unprecedented. He needs the nurse of magic and breath-taking fairy tales to lure him on and sustain him in his faltering first steps. Even modern science and technology were not in the beginning a sober pursuit of facts and knowledge. Here, too, the magicians-alchemists, astrologers, visionaries-were the pioneers.

-Eric Hoffer, The Ordeal of Change (1976)

From ideology to science, from spiritualism to cultural revolutions, words open passages into the unknown. And anyone, whether leader or follower, for whom discourse serves as a first step to unexplored territory, is an Ali Baba, a personal pioneer.

Rune Secrets For The Age Of Aquarius

Rune Secrets For The Age Of Aquarius Image
Down through the centuries, magicians, shamans, healers and wizards have kept the finer details of their trade secrets. And that was for several good reasons, The first being that by knowing secrets they were held is high esteem. Their secrets were what made them sought after.

The old saying, "Do not cast your pearls before swine." had a lot to do with the secrets. Swine were considered the unwashed masses. Who if they knew and understood these secrets would use them for all the wrong reasons.

Those who were entrusted with the secrets held the responsibility to use them in service to make things better for all. And the true "secret holders" did not live or seek a life of opulence. Except those that used the secrets for their own Black Magic Rituals.

There was also the timing, the Age that many of these "Secrets" existed. It was the Age of Pisces.

The Grand Architect of the Universe, the Creator God has a divine timing pattern for mankind. This timing pattern is worked out by the movement of our Earth around the Sun and our Solar System around the Galactic Sun. Rotation around our Sun gives us our seasons. Rotation around our galactic Sun gives us our Ages.

We are now in the Age of Aquarius. The secrets of the Age of Pisces are to be revealed now in the Age of Aquarius. Look how the Internet,a tool of the new age, has revealed so many secrets and hidden information for all to see.

The Rune secrets were never really secrets because our Nordic/Germanic Shamans, Wizards and Sorcerers knew about them and used them. They worked very well for them because they had the dedication, will power, persistence and knowledge to make them work.

I can pass on to you some of the "Secret Knowledge" of the runes but unless you supply the dedication, the will power and the persistence to apply this secret knowledge, they will not work.

Everything today is "Instant this" and "Instant that. " You can get an instant astrology reading or even an instant rune reading by clicking your mouse. But they are useless and worse than useless.

The Magic to the power of the runes is in the price that has been paid. The price that has been paid! The price is dedication, will power and persistence. The Runes work for me for I have been a working rune master for over 25 years.

Will they work for you? I will give you some of the secrets, timing, mantras, color, etc; and the Secret of the Laws of Quantum Physics that makes them work.

But you must supply your time, effort, energy and blood. Email me for a free rune secrets newsletter.
